Now Volquartsen has the Exact Edge Extractor for the Remington 597 series of
rifles.
The Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor is manufactured
through an EDM
process to produce exacting tolerances. This extractor
will not lose its edge under impact such as other
extractors made from stamped steel or titanium that will
have their edges "roll over" and actually cause
extraction problems after a short period of use. Volquartsen's
extractor features a very precise "hook point." It is made
of A2 tool steel and is
hardened to a Rc 58 to withstand years of use and
still maintain its edge. Volquartsen is able to hold the
tolerances to +/-.0001" by utilizing the EDM mfg process.

Machined of a much harder grade steel than the OEM extractor eliminates stovepipes!

I just had it installed my 597,it didnt realy have a problem before,unless i used led bullets instead of plated.But after i installed it i got a full 30 rounds in my remington 30 rounder with no stoves or jams it is realy better quality just by looking at it good buy.

Excellent aftermarket part. I installed the extractor and fired the rifle in under 10 minutes. This product made me rethink selling my 597.

I installed my new Volquartsen extractor in less than 20 minutes and then went out to the range. Not one single FTE!!! This is a great upgrade to any older 597 experiencing this issue.

Awesome! My brand new 597 was stove piping every 4th or 5th round even after cleaning. After installing the exact edge extractor I have not had a single FTE...rapid fire or slow fire it just works!
